Welcome!
How is the logo related to this site? Like all the artwork on this site, the "77" of the logo represents innumerable reasons to praise God. It was partially inspired by Larissa Murphy's praise board (https://youtu.be/dOZEEuiODUc) and a book called 10,000 Things to Praise God For.
What’s your medium? It would be easier to tell you what is not my medium: cake decorations. Cake doesn’t last long at our house.
Why do you do what you do? I make things with my hands to give to people. If you wonder why nothing on this site is for sale, that’s why.
What role does the artist have in society? To glorify God and love others. An artist can remind society about beauty; a simpler time–when it was more common for people to make things by hand; and things that exist outside of a screen. In a personal way, an artist can make someone's experience here a little bit better.
What work do you most enjoy doing? Designing something new, whether it builds on work I’ve done before or is altogether different.
Describe a real-life situation that inspired you. In Wiesbaden, Germany, I went to an art exhibition inside a barn. I looked at the first piece, then moved down the wall a bit to see the second. After the third or fourth one, I spun around and realized all the works were similar. I decided that if all my work were ever in one room, I wouldn’t want it to be that kind of experience.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given? Repent and believe!
Professionally, what’s your goal? Faithful stewardship.
What's your contact information? teachartmom@gmail.com
What are your influences? I found this note from my mother in a Ziploc bag with a piece of embroidery that I'd made as a child.
