The ground for this page is acrylic paint on a sheet of 60-grit sandpaper (a good substitute for stucco medium). A sheet of clear Duralar is glued between the white frame and light gray interior of the house. It reflects light from the surface like panes of glass. The slats are cut with an X-Acto knife, showing the dark blue paper underneath the slats, and details were added with a pencil. Worms (Deutschland); Europe Series

This drawing is also aligned with Urban Sketching. A Muji 0.38, Pentel brush pen with black ink cartridge, 05 & 02 black Micron, and Faber-Castell Pitt brush pen in warm gray III were used on 140-lb. cold press watercolor paper. Pompidou Center (Paris, France); Europe Series

This last Urban Sketching page is HB and 2B pencil with watercolor half pans: ultramarine blue sky; sap green, yellow ochre, and burnt umber grass; cadmium red pale hue and burnt sienna roof (left); and gray roofs made with ultramarine blue and burnt sienna.
